VoiceThread is a cloud application, so there is no software to install. The only system requirement is an up-to-date version of Adobe Flash. VoiceThread will work in any modern web browser and on almost any internet connection.

Seamlessly integrating VoiceThread into your Learning Management System (LMS) is the key to user happiness. VoiceThread works well within a broad range of systems, but the most powerful option is the standard developed by the IMS Global Learning Consortium called Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI). LTI allows VoiceThread to integrate into most major Learning Management Systems, including but not limited to Blackboard, Sakai, Angel, Canvas, Desire2Learn, BrainHoney and Moodle.
Single Sign-on
All users access VoiceThread with a single click. Through LTI, VoiceThread will know the context of the user from the LMS, and an account will be created for that person. First name, last name, email address, and role information can all be passed to VoiceThread through LTI.
Course Enrollment
Students and instructors are enrolled in their courses automatically. When a user clicks an LTI link within a course, VoiceThread will generate a group for that course and add the user to it.
Instantaneous Integration
Setup for IT teams is quick and simple. The only technical requirement for using LTI integration is an LMS that supports LTI tools. Never have to worry about a change in LMS. Reporting and Analytics provides the who, what, when, where, and how much, with customizable charts and graphs.

Activity Feed
See a running list of all of your VoiceThread activity in the Activity Feed. New comments on any VoiceThread that you created, that were shared with you, or to which you have subscribed will appear in this list. Click on a specific comment to read or hear it.
Instant email notifications
Turn on instant notifications to receive an email the moment a comment is made. Control which VoiceThreads send you notifications right from your settings page.
On-screen notifications
See which of your VoiceThreads have new comments as soon as you sign into your account. Whether you’re using your web browser or the VT Mobile App, follow the on-screen notifications to see all new comments.
Use the VoiceThread Uploader to upload large files from your computer into VoiceThread without needing to open your web browser. Sign into your account directly from the application and select the files you wish to upload. You can continue to use your VoiceThread account while the Uploader is importing your media.
This uploader includes FFmpeg, an open source video transcoder. Portions of FFmpeg and related libraries are licensed under the GNU General Public License. The source code for FFMpeg 0.7.11 is available here.
The custom homepage provides a dedicated, customizable website for license holders to create a frontpage for their VoiceThread work.
Branding

Interaction
VoiceThreads showcased here can be viewed right on the page. Visitors can even sign into their accounts and comment on the featured VoiceThreads right from the page.
Security
