This year at NECC we'll be wandering about, free of a booth, going to as many presentations and workshops as possible. If you're giving a presentation you think other VoiceThreaders would be interested in, please post about it here so that others can see it. It doesn't need to be about VT, just needs to be plain interesting. We'll also try and stop by to say hello and answer any questions about where we're headed in the coming year.

Make sure to tag any Threads made at NECC this year with NECC09 so they'll all be collected here - http://voicethread.com/#q+NECC09

For my pre-conference session at NECC 2009,”Using VoiceThread and a Camera to Track Student Learning,” participants will explore a variety of project ideas using digital photos and audio commenting with VoiceThread. The session will focus on using VoiceThread to document student learning across several content areas using digital and cell phone cameras. A virtual field trip of Washington DC was created using DC Historic tours and combined with a hands-on activity serves as one example of how VoiceThread could be used in the classroom. We will look at various ways images, photos, video and other media can be used to generate classroom conversations as well as the many features which make VoiceThread a great tool for teaching and learning. Unfortunately, I was only given a 3-hour time slot when I really wanted 6-hours, but participants were sent a pre-pre-conference assignment to get us started quickly!
